San Isidro Yecla
Every year in mid-May, Yecla is bustling with celebrations in honor of San Isidro, the patron saint of agriculture and livestock. After a week of music, dance, parades, and traditions, the festival culminates on Saturday: the Gran Cabalgata de Carrozas.
On that day, beautifully decorated floats—handcrafted for months and covered with thousands of colorful pieces of paper—travel through the streets.
These mobile works of art, which celebrate the city and its agricultural traditions, are a breathtaking spectacle. A celebration full of culture, color, and conviviality that you simply must experience.
In short, it's a vibrant local festival that combines tradition, religion, culture, and entertainment—a perfect opportunity to experience Yecla at its most vibrant.
Wine Bodegas Yecla
In Yecla, wine isn't a product, but a tradition deeply rooted in the city's history. Savor a glass of wine made from the traditional Monastrell grape—often sourced from old vines and produced using traditional methods—and you'll truly experience Yecla's unique flavor and character: powerful, full-bodied, and authentic.
Since 1975, Yecla has held Denominación de Origen (Designation of Origin) status, a designation that perfectly reflects the reputation of its wines. Bodegas Castaño, Barahonda, and La Purísima are among the region's most iconic wineries, where generations have mastered the art of creating robust, full-bodied red wines that reflect the spirit of Yecla.
